How to Create a Plan in Microsoft Planner?

Microsoft Planner is a part of the Microsoft Office 365 platform. A project management application that allows to create plans, organize and assign tasks, share files, and get the progress update. The application is available to premium, business, and educational subscribers to Office 365.

How to create a Plan in Microsoft Planner?

When you create a plan, an Office 365 group is created to support your plan. Office 365 groups make it easy for you and the people you’re working with to collaborate not only in Planner, but also in OneNote, Outlook, OneDrive, and more.

Create a new plan:

Login to Microsoft planner and follow the below steps

  1. Select New plan in the left pane.

In the New plan window:

Type a name for the plan.
Select the Privacy as Public/Private per your need.

Give a short description of the plan

Things to Note:

  1. Planner creates an email address for your plan automatically. You can use it for discussions with all plan members.
  2. Public plan can be visible to the rest of your organization users and appears in the search result.
  3. Private plan will be visible to the who are invited to the plan.
